    Description

    User summary:

Steam Wars is an abstract territory-occupation game for two players. Your goal is to earn victory points by expanding your territory while making your opponent lose their territory.

You initially control a territory with three hexes and one robot token on the hexagonal grid board. Each turn, you move one of your robots to expand or secure your territory. A robot can move to any hex within your territory or one hex outside, including hexes marked by your opponent, except for a hex adjacent to or occupied by your opponent's robot.

After movement, place one of your occupation markers on the destination hex if there isn't a marker there already. This hex is now part of your territory. If the hex was your opponent's, they lose control of it, and if this causes their territory to be split, they lose control of all hexes not connected with their robot. Discard all their occupation markers on these hexes.

Your opponent's robots cannot move to one of your hexes adjacent to or occupied by your robot, so secure your territory by moving your robot wisely.

Some hexes have a higher value but have a special requirement to control. As you expand your territory, you will be able to deploy more robots and fulfill the requirement to control these hexes.

The game ends when either player uses up their 30 occupation markers. Add up your victory points earned by hexes you control and occupation markers your opponent discarded. The player with higher total wins the game.
    English rulebook is now available.
