Apples to Apples is the quintessential party game – grab a grip of friends, deal the cards and go. Gameplay is fast paced and simple – there are red cards and there are green cards. Red cards are nouns and green cards are adjectives. Each player gets five red cards to start and each round the Judge reveals a green card. The remaining players choose a red card from their hand that best matches the green card. The Judge then determines which red card is the perfect match and the player who played that red card is the Judge for the next round.

  1. 4 out of 5

Sure, I’ve enjoyed playing this game for hours with all ages of family members, but it does not contain apples or fruit of any kind. I even tried eating the deck of cards and it tasted like cardboard. False advertising. You’ve been warned.

Such a great group game. It’s very fun and interactive, and can get a large group of people talking and laughing.

The only reason I can’t give it a 5 star is because there are just many more games I would rather play, but I can’t take away the fact that this is simply a great game.

  3. 5 out of 5

Apples to Apples is an absolute classic that in a way, started an entire movement in gaming. It is basically the family version of Cards Against Humanity, which stole it’s gameplay directly from Apples to Apples.

This game really tells you a lot of about your friends and family. Above all, you find out who is a straight-shooter, and who is a goof ball. It’s all about knowing the judge.

For example, when my brother is the judge you have no prayer if you play a card that actually makes sense. The more ridiculous the card, the better your chances of winning.

We’ve played countless games of Apples to Apples and apparently with the high sales volume so have many others.

  4. 5 out of 5

Super popular game for large groups. You can play with basically unlimited amount of people so no one is left out!
