DescriptionUser summary: War Games Rules These rules were used for the Ancient games in the 1972-1975 National Wargames Championships and were officially adopted by the Society of Ancients, the special society for Ancient and Medieval wargammers. For the third edition: The third edition of these rules were used for the Ancient games in the 1972-1973 National Wargames Championships. New material provided for more varied situations for battles such as attacks on fortifications and ship to shore fighting. For the fourth edition: The third edition of these rules were used for the Ancient games in the 1974-1975 National Wargames Championships. Minor changes to the rules were made to close up loopholes in the rules exploited in the previous two years of play.
