Vocational Guidance for Androids
DescriptionEver since our human creators were removed from the planet, many utility androids have lost their purpose. It is the Vocational Guidance Councillor’s task to decommission these androids. To avoid this fate you, as a poor carpet sweeper, will have to scavenge through discarded programmes and assimilate their code in order to prove to the councillor that you are worthy to sweep the streets. As an ageing, defunct android, devoid of purpose, you must change your programming in order to avoid decommissioning by the Vocational Guidance Councillor. During your turn, you will allocate action points across four rows of actions that you can perform with the aim of clearing the clutter, collecting energy cubes and purchasing code upgrades. Initially, each row has a single action, but as you obtain additional programme cards to improve your Android’s “engine”, the more actions can be performed. The game plays over eight rounds. Each round, a new programme card is revealed, clutter and energy is distributed across the three locations and the Vocational Guidance Councillor is moved. Players then allocate their action cubes to clear the clutter and collect energy cubes in order to obtain new programme cards. The programme cards contain a mixture of VP, common actions as unique actions. The objective of the game is to have the most VP by the end of the last round. In addition to VP shown on the programme cards, VP is also gained by storing clutter on the programme cards. -description from designer Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment.
