True or Bluff - The Game of Utter Codswallop

True or Bluff is a game of weird and wonderful word definitions!

This game challenges you to identify the correct definitions from amongst a set of false inventions... ...the truth from the codswallop!

Each word has been provided with three definitions and a fourth must be created off the cuff... You have to uncover the true answer whilst also revealing your opponent's crackpot creation!

Instant fun & laughter for those who love word play!

    Contents:

    Rules
    4 True/Bluff flash cards
    Score pad
    Pencil
50 double sided True or Bluff cards

    Gameplay:

The game is played by two teams, nominally of four aside but smaller or larger numbers can easily be accommodated. It is essentially a game version of the TV show Call My Bluff.

Each True or Bluff card contains an obscure word and four answers, a) to d), one of which is true and one of which is the phrase 'Your definition.' The cards are double sided with a different word and answer set on each side, giving 100 words in total.

Each team takes it in turn to read out the word on the card followed by the four answers, one of which they must make up on the spot (they have 2 minutes to do this although it usually takes much less time than that). The other team then has 2 guesses to try and work out which is the correct answer whilst trying to avoid the definition created by the other team. There are 10 rounds of this so each team has five turns bluffing and five turns guessing and at the end the team with the most points wins.

    Scoring:

If the guessing team gets it right with their first guess they score two points. If they get it right on their second guess they only get one point.

If the guessing team gets it wrong with both guesses the bluffing team gets a bonus point. Additionally, if the guessing team picked the bluffing team's made up definition for either guess (even if they subsequently got it right) the bluffing team gets two more bonus points.
