    Trade and War - Ancient Mediterranean board game is based on real historical facts of trade and war activity happened in 3d century BCE in Mediterranean Sea. This was a dramatic, rapidly changing period of Mediterranean history, time of civilizations building and destroyng. Time of Punic wars. Let's look at four major players on this time:
    - Carthage Republic was a trading empire with vast lands of northern eastern Africa and Iberian Peninsula south to Ebro river.
    - Egypt kingdom was a part of Alexander the Great Empire under Ptolemy kings with important trade and cultural influence.
    - Hellenistic Greece was still dreaming about legacy of Alexander the Great and Greek empire past.
    - Roman Republic was a rising force in the northern part of Mediterranean with impressive technological and military advances.

    Trade And War - Ancient Mediterranean is a strategy board game with a balanced combination of a trade and war activity. You are playing as a ruler of Carthage, Egypt, Greece or Rome civilizations. Build and expand your Empire and win the game!

    You perform trade with resources, and builds ships, caravans, legions and improves cities with buildings like ports, trade posts, barracks, walls and a Wonder, that will give you an important advantage.

    Random resource map makes every game different and unique. Taxation and expenses determine the money balance required to build a great civilization. Ships and caravans move resources and legions from city to city. Legions attack gives the ability to expand the player’s Empire. Ships and armies battle determines the strongest and luckiest Empire. Each building and a win in a battle is rewarded by victory points. Score the most of victory points to win!

    Ancient Mediterranean Trade and War map is created based on actual cities (some of them still have the same name now) and trade routes in the end of 3rd century BC.

    There are three main phases in the game each turn:

    - Event phase

    • God's blessing will determine what player is first to move
    • Event card play determines turn specific advantages and disadvantages.
    • Player determines the turn strategy and civilization priorities.

    - Trade phase

    • Each player can buy and sell resources - grain, pottery, metal, glass and olives.
    • Silver and gold coins are used for exchange.
    • Resources and coins can be used to buy a building or a Wonder.
    • Victory Points are given for the new building or a Wonder.
    • Taxation and expenses depend on player's cities and player's legions.
    • Player can buy trade, war and move cards
    • Player can buy ships, caravans or legions in player's city if it has building for that.
    • Athens Parthenon was used as a treasury in Ancient Greece.
    • Player can use Trade cards.

    - Move and War phase

    -Move

    • Map consists on tiles for moving ships and caravans.
    • Each player can move ships on the sea and caravans on land.
    • Dices determine how many tiles to move ship or caravan
    • Caravans and ships could move resources and legions from city to city.
    • Desert or mountain tile takes extra move.
    • Trade ship sinks in the deep sea unless player has Alexandria Lighthouse.
    • Alexandria Lighthouse gives extra move to player who owns it.
    • Golden Temple and Spring of Life await player in the end of journey.
    • Player can use Move cards.

    -War

    • Legion on ship/caravan can attack city/ship/caravan.
    • Up to three legions can travel by war ship.
    • Ship/caravan can attack another ship/caravan.
    • Roman Forum gives extra attack to player who owns it.
    • Carthage Citadel gives extra defense to player who owns it.
    • Life token can be used to ressurect lost ship or caravan or legion.
    • Victory Points are given to a winner of a battle.
    • Player can use War cards.
