    Description

    Materials
41 Train Cards and 1 Tender Card.
8 coal tokens and 2 black wooden train tokens. And an instruction booklet.

    Goal
The player to reach the Promontory Summit in Utah wins the Transcontinental Railroad Race of 1869!

    Setup
One player plays along the Central Pacific Line and the other along the Union Pacific Line.

Place one train token next to the card marked Sacramento and the other train next to the card marked Omaha.

Place the Tender card and 8 coal tokens nearby.

    Play
    Decide who goes first.

    Players take turns.

Select a numbered space on the Tender card and cover it with a coal token. Then move your train that many steps.

If the number of spaces that your train stops on is less than your opponents then select another number on the Tender card and cover it with another coal token. Then move your train that many steps.

If the number of spaces that your train stops on is equal to or greater than your opponents, your turn ends.
