The New Zoo Revue
![]()
DescriptionBilled as "the fun game that lets you explore your feelings & values", this TV show-inspired game seems to be in keeping with its Ungame ancestry. The goal of the game is nominally to collect a set of cards which match your "Winning Ticket", where the four types of cards correspond to the four main characters from "The New Zoo Review" (Freddie the Frog, Henrietta Hippo, Charlie the Owl, and their human friend Doug). However, the clear focus of the game is for the players (ideally children and their parents) to discuss various emotions and values in response to scenarios from the show described on the cards. For example, by landing on a Charlie the Owl space, the player may receive a card which reads: Charlie is disappointed when his oil well isn't a big "money maker." One odd element of the game is the Gift Exchange spaces, which require a player landing on them to use a large spinner to select a "gift", which can vary from "if you have any cards, give one away" to "apologize to somebody for something" to "scratch someone's back for 15 seconds". The game comes in a "Christian Version" which includes two pages of notes on how to enhance the religious education aspects of the game.
