    Description

The biggest day in the fishing calendar has arrived. Participants from all over the quaint and somewhat quirky English village of Upper Wallingham have arrived to compete for the ‘Golden Trout’ – a trophy only the best can win.

Choose the best fishing locations along 5 stretches of the river, load up your bait and fish like you’ve never fished before.

A colourful roll and write, number placement and fish drawing game. Game Play comes in two modes - Beginner and Pro Fishers with low ink and colour game sheets.

Before the tournament begins, each fisher (player) rolls 1 or 2 dice to see what type of zone their middle stretch of the river will become for the duration of the game. This alters fishing strategies for individual players for varied game play.

    Game Play:

Roll 2 dice (2 six-sided die) and use the numbers to decided where to enter them (fish) on each turn. There are 5 zones along the river to choose from, with 25 fishing spots. The catch (pun intended) is that number entry must be in order with no repeats.

Fishers may alternatively use their turn to buy worm bait or upgrade equipment. Fishers will need to manage worm bait carefully - this is used to alter dice numbers and is essential for tricky fishing spots. You only get a certain number of turns before the tournament is over so make every one count.

    Scoring:

Players complete zones to start scoring points and increase their points by fishing twice in the same spot and drawing fish. Completing certain zone combinations will get you bonus points. Pro Fishers have more ways to score and play.

    Pro fisher mode:

Pros may use 'hot zones' that change on each turn.

Fishing in hot zones catches high scoring or multiple fish - but avoid river rubbish or points will be deducted!

Pro fishers will need to balance buying and using bait, upgrading fishing weights and utilising hot zones productively to get the high scores.
