    Description

    Publisher information:

"The Battle of South Caobang is a tactical/operational wargame of the Battle of Cao Bang during the Sino-Vietnamese War, 1979. This is the first game of Kuro Neko Design Workshop, Shanghai, China.

"Sino-Vietnamese War (also known as the Third Indochina War), usually called as self-defense counterattack against Vietnam in China, and is a small border conflict under the background of Sino-Soviet split. With the support of USSR, Vietnam invaded Cambodia, occupied Laos, and want to build Indochina Commonwealth. At the same time Vietnam increase the provocation on the Sino-Vietnamese border. China cannot tolerance this anymore and start this counterattack and start the 10 years border war.
Based on the historical background of Sino-Vietnamese War, on the basis of reference to a large number of detailed historical data, Bloody south border: Sino-Vietnamese War series wargame was born.
On Feb 17th 1979, under the call of “Fight back to defend the frontier”, PLA start its lightning strikes to Vietnam, and captured Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Lang Son and 20 other important cities and towns on north of Vietnam. After forced crossing KyCung river on south part of Lang Son, the way to capital of Vietnam is clear, mechanized troops can march to Hanoi within one day. Vietnam
immediately transferred the main force of the invasion of Kampuchea back to defend Hanoi, and this ease the pressure for Kampuchea. When PLA reached its strategic object, PLA start to retreat back to China. Main force of Vietnam didn’t dare to pursuit and only follow PLA troops from far distance. On March 16th, all PLA troops retreated back to China.
Followed by 10 years border conflict, PLA send troops from different military region and the fight spread among Luojiaping Mountain?Faka Hill?Koulin Hill?Lao Hill?Zheyin Hill. During this 10 years border conflict China took back large amount of territory back to China, collapsed Vietnam economy and completely break the dream of Vietnam to be the world's Third Military power.
