Shiloh Solitaire
DescriptionShiloh Solitaire is designed to be played by one player who commands the Confederate army at the battle of Shiloh on April 6, 1862. Solitaire rules govern the actions of the Union side. There are four types of combat counters in the game: infantry and cavalry demi-brigades, division artillery, and Union gunboats. There are 16 one-hour turns in the game, starting at 5 AM and ending with the 8 PM turn. The Confederate side has the initiative for the first five turns. For the sixth turn and every turn thereafter, the side with the initiative is randomly determined by rolling a six-sided die (1D6) for each side. If there is a tie, the Confederate side acts first in the turn. The side with the initiative conducts the following action phases first in the order shown. Once the side with the initiative has finished with the Assault Combat phase, the other side then does the same.
The idea is to create a fast-play, solitaire game of the battle with quality art, which would fill a need in the activity for this subject. —description from the designer Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment.
