The purpose of the game is to get more points than the other player or get the starting objectives accomplished

Through the buying of national monuments with the trade goods acquired in trade posts or with the 14 resources, or the 9 Padrões (stone pillars with the Portuguese coat of arms used to mark the claim of land during the Portuguese age of discovery) that you can get by answering right to the questions.
