Quibbix
DescriptionOn the "Spiel des Jahres" 1981 Recommended Games list, "Quibbix" is a timed tile word game. A translation of Uwe Petersen´s short description on the "Spiel des Jahres"-site: First you draw 10 out of 120 face-down letter tiles. Then you try to create words by using as many of them as possible within 5 minutes time. The points of the tiles – depending on the chosen difficulty from 1 to 3 – are written into your score-board. The score for the longest word is doubled. Then you draw 5 more tiles, combine them with your old tiles to new words and score them again. In a third round you again draw 5 tiles, create words as long as possible with your 20 tiles, score them and determine the winner by adding all points together. With these simple rules Gilbert Obermair (who left the jury of “Spiel des Jahres”) created one of the funniest word-games of the last time. Originally published by Intelli in 1980. Ravensburger republished it in 1984. Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment. Insert Bullet List Please enter at least one item.
