    Description

You are a child building a pillow fort in your house.

The objective of each Night is to make it to sunrise (6am) without letting your fear get out of control. There may or may not be a real Grue out there, so it’s best to shore up your defences and keep it at bay. A true tale of childhood and cowardice, presented as a dice-rolling geometric puzzle with various scenarios.

A pen/pencil and four six-sided dice are required. This solo game is played on one printed-out page that presents an 11x11 grid and trackers for Fear, Flashlight, Time, Structures, and Re-Rolls.

Each hour of the Night represents one round where you will take two build actions. The four dice are rolled and separated strategically to target co-ordinates between (2,2) and (12,12). By putting up blankets, cushions, cords and clothespins between the furniture, you try to protect yourself from winds arriving from different directions each round. If the chill wind has any path to reach your character, it creeps up your spine and raises your fear level. If you make it to 6am without letting your fear build up, you have outwitted the Grue and can tally your score.

You are encouraged to play each scenario and aim to achieve the highest medal scores. There are 5 Nights that take place in different rooms. Some rooms have special rules such as the flashlight batteries hidden in the office or the collapsing old furniture in the basement.
