    Description

Morphogea is a modular map expansion for Power Grid, which provides some 275 quadrillion map configurations — a number which excludes bottlenecks and peninsulas and any configuration with excess cities — via 14 individually configurable map hexes. If the players agree to peninsulas and/or bottlenecks, there are septillions of configurations — nonillions if the players agree to cover unavailable cities as in the base game.

The map hexes are "sliced" into equilateral triangles, so that connections pointing off the edge of the map can be removed by flipping over the edge triangles. Additionally, the connection costs were determined according to the first-edition Funkenschlag rules, based on the terrain the connections traverse.

Because the base game's gameboard is no longer required for the map, this expansion includes an octagonal board to replace the resource market, heptagonal boards to provide distinct city connection tracks for the different player counts, and a hexagonal turn order / auction status track.

Finally, to provide extra variety, the expansion includes a deck of 32 resource cards, which can be used to randomize the starting resource market.
