    Description

Gravelotte 1870 covers the decisive battle of Gravelotte/St Privat on the 18th of August 1870 in the early stages of the Franco-Prussian War. Each player plays either the French or the Prussian in an epic battle to surround the city of Metz.

The gameplay is simple: players have their own deck of 6 cards and plan for a sequence of action each turn that will be resolved simultaneously. To support their actions they both have access to Asset cards, specific to each faction that can be triggered if the timing is right.

The design is based on the Japanese game Houten 1905, and implements some new mechanics to expand on it. It is a fast paced (5 to 15 minutes), historical bluffing game for everyone.
