    Description

The Full Ahead! miniatures wargame rules were devised to enable wargamers to refight the seemingly forgotten naval battles in the last years of the nineteenth and the early years of the twentieth century (1894-1905). During this period naval technology advanced at a rapid pace but tactically everything was still uncertain, heavy guns, light quick firers, the ram and torpedo all having their proponents, with nobody having the concrete evidence of a major action to confirm or refute their theories.

It is hoped that these rules have captured the spirit of the period they purport to represent without too much of its complexity. Indeed these rules were written with full scale fleet actions in mind with each player assigned the role of a commander in charge of anything from a squadron to an entire fleet. The rules are therefore designed to enable players to concentrate on tactics rather than book keeping and complicated time consuming gun v armour charts etc.

These rules were written with particular reference to the naval actions of the following wars:

    Brazilian Civil War 1893-1894
    Sino-Japanese War 1894-1895
    Spanish-American War 1898
    Russo-Japanese War 1904-1905
