    Description

Flashpoint: Golan is a game about a possible fifth Arab-Israeli war. It uses a highly interactive sequence of play. The map contains the Golan Heights and the surrounding area. The major combatants are; Israel, Syria and Jordan with possible intervention by US or Soviet Union forces.

    Catalogue Description.
The Middle East Is home to some of the largest, most heavily-armed, and politically influential military forces on the planet- and is also a seething mass of national, religious and ethnic animosities, where conflict Is always likely, and likely to command international attention (and involvement). This simulation lets you explore the most likely of these hypothetical conflicts, a fifth Arab-Israeli war, on Israel's northern and eastern borders. Parameters of the conflict are determined by the Scenario Generation System in a random, yet logical, fashion; a scenario will thus rarely start under the same conditions as one already played. Two conventional, set-piece Campaign scenarios are also provided, while five Battle scenarios act as an introduction to the game system. FLASHPOINT: GOLAN accurately depicts the intense, rapid pace of modern air-land warfare with a highly interactive sequence of play wherein each enemy move or action can be detected and immediately reacted to. A medium-complexity game with moderate solitaire suitability, this game features 780 counters representing regiments, brigades and battalion size units; two 22x32" full-color mapsheets; rules and playing aids.
