    Description

En Garde! is a superbly implemented 3-player version of Chess and Checkers.

The tri-colour hex board has a 9 hex wide starting rank, to allow for a third bishop (for the third colour). Otherwise, rules are identical to orthodox chess.

The well-defined wooden playing pieces are black, white and red, although in my set, the black (really dark brown) and red (sort-of mid brown) are a little too similar for comfort.

Children who have recently learnt to play Chess will absolutely love this development and experienced adult players will relish the challenge.

Three colour draughts pieces are also provided, but this feels more "messy" and forced, than the Chess varient.
