Crossword Letter Game
DescriptionA spelling game from the 1930s, which might best be described as a 'free-form' Scrabble. There are 48, 64 or 96 cards in different versions of this game. (The unrelated earlier Crossword Card Game had 52 cards.) Cards are dealt, and each player spells words, attaching them to any existing words in "crossword" fashion. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the round, and the other players add the value of their remaining cards to their score. Games ends when someone reaches 100 points, and LOW SCORE wins. The letter cards, how many of each (2nd column) in a 96-card set, and their point values (3rd column):
