    Description

The 2nd Story Expansion includes 5 new room tiles with special room effects including the fan-favorite Laboratory, an additional brick wall tile, 2nd Story and padlock cutouts, additional Holmes Movement Cards, additional event cards, and the option to "Play as Holmes" for a total group of 4-7 players. The "Play as Holmes" variant also adds semi-cooperative gameplay in order for players to occasionally work together to survive against Holmes.

All 5 new special rooms are constructed with stairs that enable players to explore the castle and build into 2 or more stories which can create more winding pathways within the castle. Playing as Holmes features the ability to plant fake evidence, destroy evidence, execute sinister castle modifications like deathtraps, and accelerated movement across the rooms of the castle. Holmes can now win the game by striking other players enough times before any other player can collect evidence and make their way back to the Pharmacy.

    Special Room Effects:

    • Secret Room - You will never be able to plan for the type of evidence that will emerge! Draw 4 random pieces of evidence from the evidence bag to place onto the safe. Beware of fake evidence!
    • Laboratory - Holmes has quite the experiment waiting for you in the Laboratory! Each time a player collects evidence in this room, they must also test their luck by selecting a potion and hoping for the best.
    • Waiting Room - You no longer have to wait for the evidence in this room to make it back around the Ferris wheel! Evidence is placed from the previous gondola position of the Ferris wheel.
    • Dumbwaiter - The Dumbwaiter allows you to explore the castle to any floor level or move to any floor across any room connected to the Dumbwaiter.
    • 5-Door Room - Any time evidence is collected in the 5-Door Room, the built-in trapdoor is activated and a player immediately falls through the trapdoor to Basement #3. This trapdoor is now a permanent feature of the castle and cannot be removed.
