Take on the role of mercenaries sent back in time to capture dinosaurs. Explore the map by revealing tiles that get more dangerous the further you go from your base. Will you push your luck only to run into a pack of hungry raptors? Or will you bring back the biggest prize in 65 million years?

Cretaceous is a 2-4 player game where players take turns exploring the map, capturing dinosaurs, and returning them back to the present. During the game you will gather items and allies to help you as well as encounter dangerous events.

When exploring the map players draw tiles of a threat level based on how far they have traveled from the base. The tile revealed will then either have the player draw and resolve an event card, or draw a dinosaur from a threat level bag of the same level.

Five dice are then rolled to determine successes at events and capture attempts. Different colors are needed for different rolls, like capturing a carnivore or a herbivore. But be careful, if you are knocked out before returning to the gate base tile your dinosaurs will escape! How far will you press your luck when the other players can sabotage you or even cause carnivores to attack?
