Cast & Capture is a unique and innovative take on classic fishing card games (ex. Casino).

In Cast & Capture, you are a mage specializing in the collection of wondrous creatures for the Arcane Academy. You must use your knowledge of the elements and arcane powers to capture a variety of mystical and magical creatures before your fellow mages. It is only by using your wits to blend the right spells and group the right creatures that you can earn the title of Master Capturer.

There are 2 decks in the game: a Creature deck and a Spell Deck. Each creature and Spell have a Power and Element tied to them. To begin, mages are given 4 Spells at random from the Spell deck and 4 creatures are placed on the field. Each turn a new creature will come onto the field and the mage whose turn it is will use their Spells to attempt to capture any number of creatures on the field that match the Power and Element of the Spell they cast. If they cannot capture a creature, then their spell is added to the Spell Pool to be used by any mage. Mages refresh their hand of Spells when they run out.

Using the Spell Blending and Creature Grouping mechanics, mages will use light strategy and symbol recognition to blend spells to create new ones and even group creatures together to make bizarre and whimsical combinations. By mastering Blending/Grouping, it helps the mage to ensure that the right spell is always at hand and maximum number of creatures are captured per spell.
