    Description

Each player is a cat person looking to adopt stray cats until their house is full. Each of the cats comes with its own special ability, and sometimes they just go out for a walk without you knowing it.

This revised version, Box of Cats 2022, offers a modified gameplay with additional cats and new abilities for greater fun!

    How to Play

The Active player takes their turn with 3 phases.
    1. Cat Phase, 2. Owner Phase and 3. Refill Phase

    1. Cat Phase: At the beginning of your turn, use the ability of each cat you have played into your House: from left to right.

    2. Owner Phase: Spend exactly 2 Action Points on the following actions. (You can choose the same action twice.)
    - Cat in the House (1 Action Point): Choose 1 cat card from your hand and put it into play in front of you - from left to right. This area is your House.
    - Stray Cats from the Box (1 Action Point): Choose 1 Stray Cat's Box (from the 3 available) and take all cards in that box into your hand.

You can play any number of Action Cards during your turn. This counts as a free action.
Only Nope can be used in another player's turn.

    3. Refill Phase: Fill each Stray Cat's Box with cards from the draw pile until each box has exactly 2 face-up cards. The turn passes to the player on the left.

      • note**

    - You can play any number of Action Cards during your turn. This counts as a free action.
Only Nope can be used in another player's turn.
    - When Cats Walk is drawn, reveal it to every player and immediately use its ability.
“Each player chooses one cat in their House (not in their hand) and gives it to the player on their left - putting it into their House.”

    Game End & Scoring

There are 2 ways to end the game.
    1. When a player has five cats in their House, the player immediately wins the game.
    2. When the 4th Cats Walk is revealed, the game ends without each player giving a cat to the player on their left. Total the cat scores and the player with the highest scores wins.
In case of a tie, the player with more cats in their House wins. If there is still a tie, the players share the victory.
