    Description

Inspired by the traditional Chinese legend of Biyi (a one-winged bird), Biyi the game is an abstract strategy game for two players that combines the strategy of chess with the simplicity of checkers. It is unique in many ways, one of which being the fact that none of the playing pieces on the board are ever removed. Additionally, you must not only strategize in 2D, but also in 3D as you stack pieces atop one another in order to bypass your opponent's defenses or stop their advance.

The goal in Biyi is simple: be the first to get one of your playing pieces into your opponent's nest. However, accomplishing said goal will require cunning and strategic thinking, as players may, on their turn, move either a single playing piece or a stack of them. When moving, these pieces can climb onto other pieces, slide across pieces, jump from piece to piece, or descend from atop a stack. To make achieving victory even more of a challenge, a river stands between you and your opponent's nest, and crossing it will require clever positioning of not only your own pieces, but also the opponent's.

Do you have what it takes to slide, climb and fly your way to victory?
