    Description

991 AD: Olaf the Dane came with his ships and army to the towns of east England. The Danes overran these places, one by one, until they arrived at Maldon. Here Ealdorman Byrhtnoth marched against the Danes with his army. The English held the ford between the island where the Danes had landed and Maldon on the mainland. The Danes asked permission to cross uncontested and fight on equal terms. For some reason, Byrhtnoth agreed. After great struggle, the Danes killed the ealdorman. The brave English fell in battle, the cowardly fled, and the Danes took possession of that place of slaughter.

Battle of Maldon is a two-player game commemorating this famous battle. Players take on the role of either the Danes or the English, and attempt to capture the enemy through maneuver and attack. All you need is a regular deck of cards to play.
