    Description

Battle for the First Panzer Army covers the breakout of the eponymous army from its position in Ukraine in the spring of 1944.

The 21"x30" map (in four sections) has a scale of three miles per hex. There are over 200 counters; most units are regiments or divisions. There are fourteen turns of one day each (there is only one scenario).

The core systems are mostly standard. The Germans get an additional mechanized movement phase after combat. Combat itself is the most unusual aspect; the strength ratio determines not a column to roll on but a table, with the column in that table determined by troop quality and terrain. Troop quality has three levels and the highest-level units exert better zones of control than others.
