    Description

Azione Violenta su Barcellona is a small and simple Solitaire postcard wargame published as a freebie by SNAFU Design, as a gift to customers of SNAFU Store, and as a free downloadable PnP file.

It's a game on the “carpet bombing” campaign carried out by the Italian “Aviazione Legionaria” on March 16, 17 and 18, 1938. The campaign was carried out through over a dozen of daylight attacks by Savoia Marchetti SM.79s of the 8th Group “Falchi delle Baleari” and night-time bombardments by Savoia Marchetti SM.81s of the XXV Autonomous Night Bombing Group “Pipistrelli delle Baleari” taking off from Mallorca.

The player must plan in advance their air raids to some sectors of the city with the airplanes available each turn and manage to demoralize the city of Barcelona in a maximum of six turns. Failing to do this by the end turn 6 is a loss, which is the historical result. While the bombardments did inflict a lot of casualties and physical damage to the buildings and infrastructures, the population barely fled Barcelona, nor took the streets to force the government to capitulate.
