    Description

Archimedes is a nautical battle game for 2 players.

The board is an 8×8 grid, and each player has 10 (in the original version) or 12 "ships" represented by pieces of one color. The object of the game is to capture the opponent's ships.

Pieces may move any distance in any direction. They do not capture by moving; instead, a piece that could move to an opposing piece's space threatens it, and a piece threatened by at least three pieces may be captured.

A captured piece may be placed on the board as one's own piece instead of moving a piece. (The pieces need to be reversible or extra pieces need to be available to swap for.)
