    Description

Across Australia on Barnet Glass Tyres is a game dating from the early twentieth century. It is simple roll and move race that sees players circumnavigate the Australian continent. Starting in Perth in Western Australia players travel in an anticlockwise directions, moving their pieces by the roll of a dice and obeying instructions along the way which may hinder or help there travels. The winner is first back to Perth on space 93.

The game has some historical significance by highlighting some of Australia's racing pioneers, although mostly now forgotten.
Mentioned on the game board is a Francis Birtle, a colourful adventurer who set cycling and driving records from the 1900's to the 1920's. The game board reference is probably a 1912 epic journey from the Gulf of Carpentaria in remote northern Australia back to Melbourne.
The game board also gives reference to a Harold Parsons who held world motorcycle endurance records between 1916 and 1920
