    Description

“There straight ahead of us in lovely procession, like elephants walking through a pack of dogs came Lion, Queen Mary, Princess Royal, Invincible and New Zealand. How solid they looked, how utterly earth quaking. We pointed out our latest aggressor to them and we went west while they went east and just a little later we heard the thunder of their guns.”—Rear Admiral W.S. Chalmers.

A Sea of Fog and Fire is an introductory level wargame simulation on the first surface naval action between the Royal Navy and that of Imperial Germany in WWI. The game design is meant to be simple and highly playable, yet one that portrays the historical challenges facing the combatants.

Players alternate moving their ships and resolving combat after determining initiative and random events for the turn. Combat includes fire, torpedo and mines. Each unit represents 1 vessel, a turn is approximately 45 minutes of time and hex is a half mile across. Play is very interactive, fast playing and true to the history.

Each copy of A Sea of Fog and Fire is composed of the following:

Two 11 by 17 inch maps
    202 single-sided, un-mounted units
    One Players' Aid Sheet
    Eight pages of rules

A six-sided and a ten-sided set of dice is also needed to play the game.
