    Description

Betrayed by your lord and friend, you have been sentenced to death for the assassination of your lord’s fiancée. Determined to clear your name and avenge the lady’s death, you vow to escape your cell, flee to safety, reveal and slay the true assassin, and duel your lord in order to regain your honor. This is your journey.

    Required Components

    • The postcard (with maps and rules)
    • The bookmark (with actions and stats)
    • A pencil with eraser
    • Any paperback book with 300+ pages

    The Gameplay

The game is simple. Each turn, riffle through the pages of the book without looking at the page numbers and quickly insert the bookmark. The number in the "hundreds" place will determine your action for the turn. If you land on page 1-99, then the hundreds place is "0".

If your action is to move, you may only move across dotted lines, never through solid lines. You may move onto spaces containing enemies, but you may not move OUT of spaces with enemies unless those enemies have been defeated. The exception to this is retreating--if you are instructed to retreat and are adjacent to or on the same space as an enemy, you may move 1 space in any direction.

If your action is to attack, the number in the "ones" place will determine which type of attack you use.

Once your action is resolve, the number in the "tens" place may force you to add additional enemies to the map. You choose where to place the enemy. You cannot place enemies in occupied spaces unless all spaces are occupied.

If you must ever choose between one page number and another, choose the page with the most text.

Finally, check the positions of all enemies on the map. If any of them are in range, they attack you.

You win the game if you complete all levels and defeat the Lord.

You lose the game if your Life ever becomes zero.
