    Description

"76 Hours of Hell" (76HOH) is a two-player wargame simulation that depicts the November 1943 American invasion of the Tarawa Atoll. This was the first major amphibious invasion launched in the Pacific against an entrenched enemy. 76 HOH is much more of a game than a simulation, and was developed in the spirit of the popular Avalon Hill Panzerblitz game that spawned so many variants in the 1970’s. As such, the rules are “design for effect” in an attempt to keep their length and scope to a manageable level, allowing players to fight the battle, not the rules.

In the rules, historical notes and explanations are listed in italics. Now, hit the beach!

Components: 33 x 17 map, 2 counter sheets, 18 page rule book with charts, scenarios and notes. The map layout is offered in two sizes, tabloid or letter, for the convenience of PNP.
