Yacht Race
DescriptionThis 1930s game is a rather simple and odd representation of a yacht race from Montauk Point to Bermuda. The game requires players to choose a point of sailing (Tack to Windward, Reach, Free Reach, Run with the Wind), and yet the game ignores the actual direction of the wind. The course is a straight line of 30 spaces, and players use a 1-20 spinner. The spinner number gives a result from the table for each of the four points of sailing. So one player can tack to windward while his neighbour runs before the win - even though they are both moving in the same direction! Game DiscussionsAdd CommentYou need to be logged in to comment.
