    This book carries on the New Zealand Wars conflict with background provided about the history and people that took part in the war.

    War in the Fern & Tussock focuses on the actions that took place in the Taupo region that was first campaign when forces of both sides were many made up of Maori soldiers.

    Colonel Thomas McDonnell was in command of the colonial forces during this campaign that was to try to destroy Te Kooti and his Ringatu forces for good in 1869.

    The booklet is full of information and details about the actions and battles that took place. Information you will find inside are the orders of battle, descriptions, and important dates of the campaign. To play the scenarios and campaign you will need the rules which are in a previous title - The New Zealand Wars: Skirmish Rules and Campaign Rules for the Waikato War 1863-1864
