The information that BoardGames has on this item indicates that San Guo Sha is an unauthorized reproduction of BANG! with just a few differences, published in China and distributed in several coutries of the world.

This expansion is a collector's edition. It adds 9 new character cards to the game. 7 of these characters were already present in the base version of the game but have gotten new artwork and new abilities. These new character cards does not replace the old ones, since the abilities are different. 2 new characters are also introduced. The cards were released monthly in some issues of Zhuo You Zhi magazine as a free gift.
