    Description

The game covers three important battles of the Italian campaign. Allied landing near the port of Salerno, executed on 9 September 1943 under the codename “Avalanche”, was a part of the Allied invasion of Italy. The Italians withdrew from the war the day before the invasion, but the Allies landed in an area defended by the German troops that quickly started a number of counterattacks. The battle of Monte Cassino (17 January-18 May 1944) was a costly series of the four assaults by the Allies against the Winter Line. The capture of Monte Cassino resulted in 55,000 Allied casualties, with German losses estimated at around 20,000. In the battle of Ancona (16 June-18 July) Polish II Corps captured an important Italian port of Ancona. Game gives players a lot of units to command and shows all there battles in the detailed way, so players have a chance to change the course of any of these.
