    Description

1718: Death of a King is the second game in The Scandinavian Wars Trilogy from Pantero Games. The game is a strategic level analysis of the invasions in 1716 and 1718, with units being battalions and regiments, with a few squadrons of cavalry and dragoons thrown in. The game will use the same basic set of rules as the other games* in the series and also has a few separate rules to account for the time period and way of war in the early 1700's. The map depicts the border area in southern Norway and Sweden, from Trondheim to Gothenburg.

As the Swedish player your goal is to force a Norwegian surrender by capturing Christiania (modern-day Oslo) and at least two major fortresses. And keep your King alive,of course. As the Norwegian player, your goal is to force the Swedes to retreat back into Sweden defeating units, destroying supplies and, if you are lucky, kill King Charles XII.
